I am so happy to take part in this awesome blog hop with my fellow teachers at Fabulous Freebies for Teachers. If you keep reading you will find out about my "Favorite Holiday Memory," but first let me share my Fabulous Winter Holiday Freebie with you. Having taught Spanish (as a Second Language) from Pre-K through 12th grade I have decided to focus this holiday freebie on the little ones.
I've created a small fun packet containing 9 Christmas cards in Spanish that students can write and wipe. This is just a taste of the new write and wipe Spanish Sight Word packets coming to my store in December. If you like Spanish Sight Words activities, check out my store categories filled with sight word activities from Pre-K until 1st grade. CLICK HERE to download this freebie from my store! If you like the freebie, feedback is much appreciated!
For many years we have kept this tradition, even when we moved to the United Stated and it was just my mom, dad, my two sisters and I. Then the family grew, brother in laws joined in and nieces were added to the mix, making the present opening so much fun!!! But recent years have changed that tradition!
This is the first year that my family decided we would not celebrate Christmas. Don't get me wrong. We will get together, we will sing songs, share stories and a meal, but this is the first year that we will NOT give each other presents. You see, my father along with other members of my family (including myself) have had the opportunity to visit other parts of the world, and during our visits we have seen the poverty and need that others experience every day of their lives.
That is why a few months back we decided that starting this year we would pool our (Christmas presents) money together every year and send give it to a family in need. Wether they live in a foreign country or here in the U.S.A. we want to share our blessings with them. We want to make their Christmas as happy as the ones we have enjoyed all our lives. So this holiday season I invite you to share your blessings with others as well!
